MIT Chinese Student and Scholar Association (MIT CSSA) is an official MIT-recognized non-profit organization. We have more than 1000 official members, mostly from China, including 600 graduate students, and around 100 undergraduate students, 150 post-docs and visiting scholars, and 150 MIT alumnus/affiliates. Our email list contains more than 5000 members in the greater Boston area. The main mission of our organization is to serve the needs of our members, spread Chinese culture, and facilitate communication within the large Chinese community both on and off MIT campus.

To achieve our mission, MIT CSSA regularly organizes social activities, such as dancing parties and outings, conducts information seminars on a variety of topics, including insurance, immigration, and career development, and promotes Chinese culture with various history, music, and sports groups. Besides these activities, we also organize several large-scaled events, including our annual Mid-Autumn Harbor Cruise and our Chinese New Year cultural performance, which are attended by the entire Chinese community.
