We are very sorry to inform you that a first year MIT Chinese graduate
student, Zhenxiu Mao, has passed away in his off-campus apartment on
Monday Feb 28th.

CSSA organized a fundraising effort on behalf of Zhenxiu to
help his family financially. Especially, his parents are going to
contribute most of the donation to Zhenxiu?s high school in Ningbo,
Zhejiang Province to help the prospective students.

Since the early March, 2005, CSSA has received a total amount of $5242 donation for Zhenxiu from students and faculties at MIT as welll as from many people in NY, OH and CA, etc. Here CSSA would like to thank each of you whose name is on the list below for your kindness, generosity, support and love. The whole fundraising will end up on April 10, 2005 and the collected money will be sent to Zhenxiu's partents in China in the following week.

Attached followed is the email from Student Life Program Office of MIT about the check issued to Peijing Mao, Zhenxiu Mao's father. Please note that there is $55 expense out of the total doation of $5242 for maintaining the memory web page of Zhenxiu.

you that the reimbursement check that you had requested via your
student account is available for pick up. When picking up the check,
please have your MIT Identification Card ready and refer to the check
as follows:

If you need to send someone else in your/their place to pick up the
check or want them mailed to you, please email funds@mit.edu ahead of
time in order to receive approval from funds.

The SLP Office is located in W20-549, we are opened Monday - Friday,
between 9:00am - 5:00pm. Please come to the front desk for all check
